Carolanne Miljavac’s “She Laughs” Comedy Tour and Darren Knight’s Southern Momma will be rescheduling the July 10th and July 11th performances. The decision was made after closely considering the regulations and protocols that would’ve had to been made to comply with social distancing orders. The new dates are on October 2nd for Carolanne and October 3rd for Darren.

The Folly, in support of the Stay-at-Home ordinance, will keep both the Folly Theater and its administrative offices closed through Friday, May 15th, with the hopes to reopen on Monday, May 18th.

Jazz Guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli & Patriarch of the Marsalis family, Ellis Marsalis, passed away on April 1st, 2020. While we are sad for any upsets in the jazz world like this, these two hold a special place in our hearts. Both Bucky & Ellis have played at the Folly Theater as a part of the Folly Jazz series.
As announced on Saturday, March 21, 2020 Kansas City, MO and surrounding counties are subject to a Stay-At-Home Order effective Tuesday, March 24th at 12:01 AM. In compliance with the city’s new order, the Folly Theater and the Administration Offices will be temporarily closed until said order is lifted.
Fiona Dougan is a student at the Kansas City Art Institute and participated in the annual Folly Jazz Series Poster Design competition with other students in her class! Fiona had amazing, bold designs that the judges loved. Fiona also won the best design for her Branford Marsalis poster!
The Folly Theater & the Kansas City Art Institute partnered in a poster design project eleven years ago. The project was designed to provide the KCAI Graphic Design students with real-world client experience, while at the same time, elevating the aesthetic of the Folly Theater.
For the fifth year in a row, the Folly has celebrated summer with the Eat, Drink, & Be Jolly for the Folly! – An annual garden party fundraiser for the Folly.
