Violinist Nicola Benedetti is a world-loved musician and a favorite artist of the Harriman-Jewell Series. Best known as a solo artist, Benedetti also loves to play in ensembles. She’ll share that love with Kansas City when she’s joined by cellist Leonard Elschenbroich and pianist Alexei Grynyuk, two of Benedetti’s longtime friends, for an evening of exquisite chamber music. Benedetti and Elschenbroich met while students at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England. They later met Grynyuk, who was a student at the Royal Academy.
Described by The Telegraph U.K. as “a trio of true stars,” these formidable musicians have been receiving raves for their concerts. “One has to be slightly in awe of the tonal beauty and strength of these three artists,” Vancouver Classical Music reported. “Benedetti has a wonderful clarity, resilience, and expression in her playing; Elschenbroich is slightly more modest, but absolutely cunning and probing, while Grynyuk has enviable keyboard touch and flexibility.”
