“The ensemble is superb—it’s as much fun to watch these performers listen to one another as it is to hear them play.” — The Boston Globe
Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin presents a panorama of timeless works, expressing the passions and emotions of Baroque music. Its rhythmic flow and appealing harmonics still captivate and surprise the audience to the present. This program unites catchy tunes like Pachelbel’s famous Canon, as well as powerful music by Händel, CPE Bach, and Vivaldi, where even the slow movements are of the most ravishing intensity. Johann Sebastian Bach’s Double Concerto, a true masterpiece, show once more how Baroque music owes much of its inspiration to dance music – in former times as popular as now.
A Pre-Concert Conversation will be presented by Dr. Paul Laird prior to the concert.
