Access for Individuals with Disabilities

The Folly Theater entrance is accessible without the use of stairs. Arrangements must be made in advance for seating in wheelchair-accessible rows.

As a historic venue, there is no elevator in the Folly Theater auditorium.  However, elevator service is offered in the west lobby to the Patron’s Lounge. 

Individuals with hearing impairment may request an electronic hearing device from the house manager or an usher. A photo ID may be requested for use of the device.

Requests for a qualified sign language interpreter for a scheduled event should be made at least fourteen (14) days before the event. While the Folly Theater will attempt to arrange a qualified sign language interpreter on shorter notice, we cannot guarantee availability. Bar Service*

Bar service is available depending on the event. Bars serving both alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are located in the West and Upper Lobbies. State Law requires that alcoholic beverages not be carried off-premises.

FOOD SERVICE*

On a limited basis, outside food or beverages may be allowed during technical or rehearsal time in the venue and will be dictated by the show producer.  Guests may not bring outside food or drink to a Folly performance of any kind.  Water is available upon request for any medication or other personal need.  Please ask a Folly staff member or volunteer for assistance.

*Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, bar and food service is available on a limited, show-by-show basis.  

RE-ENTRY

Re-Entry policy is determined by the presenting organization on a show-by-show basis.  If a patron departs a performance with a no-re entry policy, the patron will be required to purchase another ticket (subject to availability).  

Camera & Tape Recordings

Recording any presentation or event in the Folly Theater is strictly prohibited unless otherwise approved by the presenting organization. Approved photographers or videographers may in no way intrude on other patron’s enjoyment of the performance. Tablets and Ipads are not permitted.  If you are seen recording an event, Folly staff may ask for your device which will be returned after the show. Failure to comply may result in you being asked to leave. 

Cell Phones and Other Devices

 Cell phones and mobile devices should be turned to silent mode or turned off during all performances. Any other devices that may disrupt other patron’s enjoyment are asked to be turned off or to be left at home. 

Late Arrival

The late arrival policy is determined by the presenting organization on a show-by-show basis. Late arrivers may be asked to wait momentarily in the lobby until an appropriate pause to enter the auditorium and be shown to their seat. 

Lost and Found

To check for lost items, call the box office at (816) 474-4444. Found items are held for 90 days.  Any unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity.  Cash and items of significant value left over 90 days will be treated as a donation to the Folly Theater.  To inquire about a lost item, call 816-842-5500. 

Public Telephones

Public telephones are available upon request.

Under Age Patrons

Some events are not appropriate for children of all ages due to content, duration or atmosphere.

Refunds and Exchanges

All ticket sales are final. If an event is postponed to a later date, the refund and exchange policy on tickets will be at the presenting organization’s discretion. If the event is presented by the Folly Theater, we will attempt to move all tickets to the new date and allow a grace period for returns. 

Refunds – Shipping, handling, and service charges are non-refundable, even if the event is canceled.

Please Don’t Leave Your Seats Empty

Donate your tickets for resale if you cannot attend the performance. Return tickets to the point-of-purchase organization at least 24 hours before the event to receive a tax-deductible donation receipt.

Prohibited Items

The following items are not allowed in the Folly Theater:

Bottles, cans, outside food or beverages, weapons or firearms, coolers, iPads or other similar tablet devices larger than 7″, fireworks, illegal substances, frisbees, beach balls, spurs, artificial noisemakers, balloons, laptop computers, and laser pointers.

 The Folly Theater does not permit guns or weapons of any kind including concealed with a permit.  Umbrellas are permitted and should be placed under seats. The Folly Theater reserves the right to add prohibited items to the list above as well as limit the size of hand-held signage. Signage deemed to block the view of other guests will not be permitted.

SECURITY

Folly Theater staff is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all patrons. Those attending a Folly Theater event are expected to abide by the rules of the facility. The Folly Theater does not permit guns or weapons of any kind.  Patrons may be screened by security hand-held wands and all bags may be checked depending on the security policy in place at the presented performance.
