TAKE 6 (Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea and Khristian Dentley), heralded by Quincy Jones as the “baddest vocal cats on the planet!,” is the quintessential a cappella group and the model for vocal genius. They are the preeminent and best a capella group in the world.

With 10 GRAMMY Awards, 10 Dove Awards, a Soul Train Award, and they are Members of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, this musical phenomenon has six virtuosic voices united in crystal clear harmony, against a backdrop of syncopated rhythms, innovative arrangements, and funky grooves that bubble into an intoxicating brew of gospel, jazz, R&B, and pop.

Without the generous support of our sponsors, not only would we be unable to put together the Folly Frolic with such amazing talent, but we wouldn’t be able to sustain the Kansas City legacy that is the Folly Theater. Sponsors help us maintain the historic building, provide programming featuring diverse performers, and sustain the longest-running Jazz series in Kansas City. Most significantly, sponsor support allows the Folly to provide free tickets and subsidized bus transportation for area Title-I schools and underserved students to attend Folly Kids’ Series performances.
