But before that, he helped his neighborhood recover after a terrorist attack killed 31 of his community members. He did this, using music. Daryl recounts, "in 1998, my home town, Omagh suffered a serious terrorist bomb killing 31 innocent people. In the devastating aftermath, I decided to set up a Peace Choir of teens from both sides of the so-called political divide in Northern Ireland." The Omagh Community Youth Choir was created and their music was used to help survivors cope and rebuild. His vision for the Omagh Community Youth Choir was to join the young people who come from varying backgrounds and traditions, and to raise awareness of the peace and reconciliation his community was working through in harmony. The choir is known around the world and most recently performed at the 2015 Milwaukee Irish Fest with Kansas City celtic-crossover band, The Elders. As the Omagh Community Youth Choir continues to perform, rehearse and travel internationally, their message continues to open hearts and minds around the world.
